(Longview, WA) – Six Lower Columbia men's basketball sophomores and their teammates made a great final impression in front of the home fans on Saturday February 25
th.
Sophomore Night was a winner as the Devils defeated Highline 86-67.
Ashton Harvey's final college home game in his hometown was very good. Harvey had a team-high 17 points with 13 rebounds.
Sophomore
Emanuel Steward scored 15 points, pulled down seven boards, had two assists, two steals and a block.
Also playing at home for the last time was
Cole Hardy (8 points),
Sherman Royal III (9 points),
Cameron Holden (5 points) and
Jake Leitz (3 points).
Redshirt freshmen
Kaden Horn and
Jonah Zeller had 10 points each.
Carter McCoy will be back next year after an injury shortened freshman year last season. McCoy had nine points and four boards on Saturday.
It was a total team effort as the Devil reserves outscored the Highline bench 32 to 10.
Lower Columbia out-rebounded the T-Birds 43-31.
Rayven Turner led Highline with 21 points.
The LCC victory sets up big showdown in the regular season finale. The Devils will be at Green River at 7:30 pm on Wednesday March 1
st. Both teams are 12-1 in the West and the winner will claim the region title. The Devils handed the Gators their lone league loss 76-67 back on February 1
st. Since then, the Gators have won six straight while LCC will take a 10-game win streak into the game.
