(Longview, WA) Red Devils women's basketball overcome poor first half shooting to defeat the Pacific University Boxers JV squad 79-72 on Tuesday, December 5,at Myklebust gym.
The Devils were down after the first quarter 11-14 having only hit 4-20 from the floor, 1-5 in 3pt shooting, and 2-4 from the foul line. LCC improved in the 2nd quarter to 56% FG shooting, and 85% from the free throw line to take a 6 point led (24-18) into the locker room.
The second half was much improved for Lower Columbia as the team came out and shot 48% from the floor. The Devils were efficient from the foul line hitting 5-6 in the 3rd quarter and 9-15 in the 4th.
Morgan Hamilton was big off the bench for the Devils with 19 points.
Bailee Larson, once again, lead the way for LCC with 25 pts, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 5 steals.
Reigha Niemeyer added 9 points, 4 rebounds.
Kayla Kasubuchi put up 7 points with 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The win puts the Red Devils at 5-2 on the season.
Next up is another home match for LCC on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:00 pm vs the Shoreline Dolphins.
