(Longview, WA) Devils soccer dominates Tacoma in 3-1 win at Northlake field on Saturday, October 7.
Lower Columbia had a shut out win after 90 minutes but in the waning seconds of stoppage time the Titans draw a foul in the goal box to set up a penalty kick.Â
The Red Devils controlled the game vs the Titans dominating time of possession with a 68% total time of possession. LCC also had 11 corner kicks to TCC's 1, and 22 shots to Tacoma's 8. Unfortunately, Lower Columbia sailed a lot of shots wide with only 11 of the 22 shots taken considered on target.Â
At the half the score remained 0-0, but the Devils came out on fire to start the second half.

Adalie Schierscher followed that up 2 minutes later, assisted by
Jennifer Baertlein, to make it 2-0 LCC. Then in the 56th minute
Jennifer Baertlein, assisted by Koda Haoglin, gave the Devils an insurance goal.Â
The Red Devils continued to press the Titans but in the final seconds of stoppage time the Titans Mia Romero draws a foul in the box. The Resulting penalty kick stole the shut out from the Devils as Romero's shot found the corner of the Devils goal.Â
The win puts LCC at 5-1-1 in the west standings behind Pierce (6-2) and Clark (6-0-1). Next up for the Devils is a road match at Pierce on Wednesday, October 11, at 3:00 pm in Lakewood, WA.Â
