Box Score (Tukwila, WA) – The Lower Columbia women's soccer team tasted defeat for the first time this season but their heads are held high.
The Spokane Sasquatch got a second half goal to beat the Red Devils 1-0 at the NWAC Friendlies on Wednesday August 24
th.
It was an outstanding match between two very good teams at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila.
It was obvious from the outset that this was a good pairing of teams with similar skill sets. Spokane applied plenty of first half pressure but LCC also had some solid moments including shots from
Sunny Bennion and
Molly Romanchock.
Bailee Larson also had a great chance but her strike in the box was turned away by the Bigfoot keeper.
Spokane broke through with the game winner after an LCC penalty.

Joe Chicks was again impressed by both teams. "It was another top notch match with both teams playing at a high level", he said. "It was just two teams squaring off and getting each other better with great competition."
After three scrimmages and two matches, the Devils lost for the first time this season. LCC is now officially 2-1-1 on the young season.
The Devils have one more tune-up before league play begins. The Devils will travel to McMinnville for a game on Monday August 29th against the Linfield Wildcats. The game begins at 2 pm.
