(Longview, WA) -- The Lower Columbia College baseball team took three of four games in a home-and-home series with the Edmonds Tritons.
The teams met in Edmonds on Friday March 25th. In the first game,
Camdem Oram went six solid innings to get the win in a 4-2 victory over the Tritons. Oram allowed just two hits and two runs in his outing. He pitched to contact and did the job without a strikeout and just two walks.
The Devils were down 2-0 after six frames. LCC scored a run in the 7th and then plated three in the 8th to rally for the victory.
Daniel Gernon had two hits and an RBI.Â
Eric Luchies had a clutch RBI single.
Kyle Parkman and
Matthew Schwarz also drove in a run a piece.
Brayden Marcum closed the game after
Matthew Lewis took over for Oram. Marcum went an inning and two-thirds with two strikeouts to get the save.
In the second game Friday, the teams were tied 3-3 after 6 1/2 innings. The Tritons then exploded for seven runs in the 7th to blow the game open. Cody Ranit's three-run homer was the big blow for Edmonds.
Matthew Schwarz had a big game at the plate with four hits in five at-bats. Gernon was 3 for 5 with three RBI's including a triple.
The scene shifted to Longview for two games on Saturday March 26th.Â
Easton Amundson had the big blow, an 8th inning grand slam as the Devils won the game 8-5.
Down 2-0 after five innings, LCC plated three runs in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead and then added one in the 7th and four in the 8th.
Justin Stransky also went deep for the Devils, a solo shot. Gernon had a double and two RBI's.
Michael Schwarz worked five plus innings, allowing five hits and three runs.Â
Aaron Robertson went four innings allowing just two hits and two runs.
The 7-inning series finale was highligthed by the two-hit shutout from
Ryan Pitts. Pitts used his defense to shut down the Tritons. He walked two and struck out one.
The Devils are now 15-5 as they closed out non league play with the series win over Edmonds. The stakes are raised as LCC will open West Region Play on Saturday April 2nd against Pierce. The single game will begin at 12 pm at Story Field. Centralia comes to Story Field for a single game on Sunday March 3rd at 12 pm. Both games can be heard live on radio at 100.7 FM KLOG and worldwide on klog.com. The games will also be streamed on Devil Vision.
