(Albany, OR) – The Lower Columbia men's basketball team played three games at the NWAC Cross Over tournament hosted by Linn Benton College December 15-17. All three games where decided by shots at the buzzer.
Kaden Horn's three at the buzzer on Thursday gave LCC a 79-76 win over Skagit Valley (previous story).
Friday the table was turned when Malaki Munoz of Columbia Basin hit a lefty scoop shot with one second left to give the Hawks a 76-74 victory.
LCC made it a winning weekend when the Devils beat host Linn Benton 73-72. Grant Dunn of the Roadrunners missed a three at the buzzer.

Before Munoz hit the game winner, the Red Devils and Hawks played a very even ballgame. LCC had a nine point first half lead. The Hawks led by eight with 3:29 left in the game.
The Devils went on a 7-0 run late to tie the game when Horn hit a three with one minute left.
Carter McCoy's lay-up with 13 seconds left gave LCC a 74-72 lead. But the Hawks pulled it out with a Latrell Barker jumper to tie and then Munoz heroics.
McCoy had a solid game for LCC. With
Sherman Royal III out with a sinus infection, McCoy started and scored 12 points with six rebounds.
Emanuel Steward led LCC with 17 points.
Cameron Holden hit 4 of 6 three-pointers on the way to 14 points.
Horn was 3 for 3 from distance for his nine points.
Both teams got 23 points off the bench. The Devils outrebounded CBC 30-28. The Hawks had 13 turnovers and LCC had just 10 miscues.
Lower Columbia 73 Linn Benton 72
McCoy had another great game for the Devils against Linn Benton. He scored 20 points on 8 for 11 shooting and pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
The Devils were down 40-29 at halftime but tightened up the defense and got back into the game. McCoy's dunk with 16:15 left in the game got LCC within three and the game was close the rest of the way.
Mekhi Morris hit a lay-up with 1:13 left to give LCC its first lead since early in the first half.
Cole Hardy hit the front end of a one-and-one to give the Devils a 73-71 lead with :54 seconds left. The Roadrunners hit one of two free throws to make it a one point game.
Horn's front end miss gave Linn Benton one last chance. The 'Runners opted for the win but Dunn's three missed and LCC got the victory.
Hardy scored 13 for LCC. Steward had 10 points and a team-high eight assists. Horn had 11 points.
Ashton Harvey had eight points and four rebounds.
Jonah Zeller had seven points and four boards.
The Devils are 9-3 heading into the Christmas break. The team will return to action on Wednesday January 4
th when they host the Shoreline Dolphins in a rematch. Shoreline beat LCC 77-67 back on December 9
th. The latest battle will tip off at 6 pm at Myklebust Gym.
