(Longview, WA) – The Mt. Hood Saints came to Myklebust Gym and played inspired volleyball taking a 3-1 victory over Lower Columbia on Friday September 10
th.
Playing without All-American libero
Emma Nelson, the match provided opportunities for others to step up and contribute more. The Saints are a talented team and they were able to grab the first set and then win the final two after LCC had bounced back to tie the match at 1-1.
The set scores were 25-22, 18-25, 25-16 and 25-23.
Josie Jansen and Elizabeth Reid had eight kills each as the Saints had a .186 kill percentage. The Devils kill percentage was .089.
Camryn Wilson had a match-high nine kills to lead LCC. She also had 15 digs.
Olivia Kelzenberg added eight kills. Kina Robertson and
Emily Borgstedt had six kills each.
Freshman
Arianna Vreeland had 20 digs to lead the Devils in that category.
Amanda Holm had 18 assists and
Ashley Noah had 15 helpers.
The Devils record is 4-3 on the season and they have one more non-division match before starting league play. LCC will be at Shoreline Tuesday September 14
th at 6:00 pm.
West Region play begins on Wednesday September 22 when the South Puget Sound Clippers come to Longview for a 6:00 pm start.
