20-0! Devils Cap Off An Undefeated Season

The Lower Columbia College softball team finished off the season by running the table.  The Devils completed a 20-0 undefeated season with a double header sweep over Grays Harbor Saturday May 22nd in Aberdeen.

Kinzey Williams won the NWAC batting crown by going 6 for 8 in the twin bill, good for an incredible .622 batting average.  The Devils won the first game 8-0 and took the season finale 16-1. Both games were shortened to five innings because of the 8-run rule.

Jade Behic pitched the first game and allowed just four singles.  Behic walked none and struck out seven to close out her season record of 10-0.

Williams was 2 for 4 with two RBI's.  Katelyn McGough was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI's.  Ada Williams was 2 for 2 with a double and two RBI's.

Saydie Harris had an RBI triple and catcher Brittnee Harvill was 2 for 2 with a walk and two runs scored.

The Devils pounded out 19 hits in the second game highlighted by a huge final game for Harris.  Saydie went 4 for 4 with six RBI's.  She had two doubles and a monstrous home run to centerfield into the teeth of a wind blowing straight in.

Kinzey continued to do her thing as she was 4 for 4 with four runs scored.

McGough was 2 for 4.  Ada also had two hits including a double.

Mallory Brown was outstanding in the circle as she went all five innings allowing just three hits.  Grays Harbor got its only run of the day with a fifth inning double off Brown.   Mallory walked just one and struck out six Chokers.

Brown also went 2 for 4 at the plate.

Karsyn Zaragoza also had a great final game for LCC, going 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBI's.

The 2021 Covid-19 season was anything but normal.  LCC was placed into a West Region-only schedule with the traditional South Region showdowns not happening this season.  Traci Fuller's team took on the games presented on their schedule and took care of business.

20-0.
