The Highline Thunderbirds came to Longview on Tuesday May 11
th and gave the Lower Columbia Red Devils a big challenge. But in the end, the Devils decided to hit some free throws,
Tommia Pakootas hit some huge threes and…..Schmidt happened.

Danica Schmidt had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Devils to a 75-65 victory.

Schmidt filled up the boxscore with two steals and three blocks.

Highline led 17-15 after one and 30-29 at the half.

Pakootas got loose in the second half with a couple of big third quarter three's that got the LCC confidence up. Pakootas went 4 for 7 from distance and finished with 12 points.

Michaela Harris was also outstanding as she had 16 points, five boards, three assists and four steals.

The Devils got big contributions off the bench from
Jazlynn Novelli (11 points) and
Laura Tagg (six points, three rebounds and three assists).

The Devils were just 1-10 from the free throw line after three quarters. But in the fourth quarter with Highline forced to foul, the Devils went 7 for 8.

Eastyn Reeves played all 40 minutes and had seven points, nine assists, five boards and three steals.

Catherine Sunny led Highline with 15 points.

Lower Columbia goes to 7-0 on the season. The next game is Friday May 14
th at Pierce. Game time is 5:30 pm.
