The Lower Columbia basketball home double header became a singular affair when the Pierce Raider men had to cancel the game due to Covid-19 protocols.
So the LCC women decided to make it a good single feature with a 74-52 victory over Pierce.
Michaela Harris led the way with 17 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Danica Schmidt was also outstanding as she took control early in the game and went on to score 16 points with nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Lower Columbia got off to an 8-0 start but the Raiders hung in there and were down just 15-9 at the quarter and 35-25 at the half.
Pierce, playing its first game of the season, came out of the intermission on a 6-0 run but that was as close as they would get. LCC outscored the Raiders 22-12 in the third quarter to seize control of the game.
Eastyn Reeves kicked started the third quarter uprising by hitting three 3-pointers. Reeves ended up with nine points, seven assists and two blocks.
Chinedu Nnadi was saddled with foul problems but still scored nine points with three rebounds.
Freshman post
Laura Tagg had a successful 17 minute run for the Devils with six points, five boards and four blocked shots.
Eva Taylor led the Raiders (0-1) with 12 points.
The Devils go to 4-0 on the season and they will travel to Centralia for a 5 pm game on Friday April 30th.
