The Lower Columbia women's basketball team showed its depth in a 66-41 win over the Clark College Penguins on Thursday, December 2 in Vancouver, Wa.
The Red Devils gave up 6 unanswered points to start the game but then turned it around going on a 19-3 run to close out the first quarter. LCC never looked back. The halftime score was 35-18.
The second half was much of the same as the Devils held the Penguins to only 23 points in the half, going on to the easy victory.
The Devils forced 32 Clark turnovers and only gave up 14 with a 37% FG shooting as a team. Lower Columbia bench was big for the Devils scoring 39 points and 15 steals.
Jazlynn Novelli lead the way for the Red Devils coming off the bench with 15 points and four steals.
Danica Schmidt added 11 points and eight boards.
Paige Mace also had 11 points and five steals.
Katelynn Forner put up 7 points with two assists and three steals. The Camas grad had a big contingent cheering on her every move.
Haylie Johnson was the top scorer for the Penguins with 10 points.
This is the fourth consecutive win for the Red Devils as they are now 4-0 on the season.
Next up for Lower Columbia is a trip over the river on Sunday, December 5, to Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. Tip off is set for 2:00 pm
The first home game for the Devil women will be Friday, December 10, at 5:30 pm vs the Columbia Basin Hawks
