The Red Devils volleyball season came to its conclusion this last weekend in Pasco, WA, at round one of the NWAC Championships.
The third place West Region ranking meant that the Devils would play the South Region number 2 seed, the Lane Titans (11-3). The Red Devils gave everything they had in the 10:00 am match held at Columbia Basin College. Both teams fought for every point and were fantastic on defense leading to each set coming down to within a 3 point or less difference.
Set one went to Lane 27-25, Devils took set two 27-25, Lane then took the match lead with a 25-22 win of set three. The Devils found themselves down 7 points in the fourth set, but rallied back to tie it at 24 and then again at 25, but were unable to capitalize and Lane took the set 27-25 to win the match 3-1.  Â
Jayden Foster led the Devils with 11 kills and 3 blocks.
Emily Borgstedt had 10 kills and 2 blocks.
Kiana Robertson added 4 kills and 3 blocks.Â

Amanda Holm had 16 and 14 assists respectively.
Emma Nelson had 23 digs and 2 assists.

In the match vs Whatcom the Red Devils struggled to find a rhythm, dropping the first two sets 25-16 and 25-21. In the third set Lower Columbia found success with Nelson serving up a couple aces and
Josie Dew hitting hard at the net with 5 kills in the set. LCC went on to win the set 25-12. Whatcom did not did not let that set affect them, as they came out in the fourth set and ran out to a 17-9 lead. LCC would close the gap to 24-20, but that would be as close as they would get.Â
Whatcom won the match 3-1, eliminating the Red Devils from the tournament.Â
