On Saturday, six Red Devils combined to hit nine home runs in an 18-3, 16-3 softball doubleheader sweep of Treasure Valley. Sunday was a different story, however, as Lower Columbia was limited to just four runs on the day and fell 7-2 and 12-2 to Edmonds.

Both twinbills were played on the turf complex at Montesano HS, after the previously scheduled NWAC Inter-Regional event was canceled in Lacey, WA, due to health concerns related to the Coronavirus.

Lower Columbia now stands 5-3 on the season, heading into South Region play which opens on Saturday, March 14. The Red Devils will host Southwestern Oregon in a noon doubleheader at Heerensperger Field at Tam O' Shanter Park in Kelso.

Lower Columbia 18, Treasure Valley 3 (5 innings) –
Ada Williams swung the biggest bat in the opener for LCC, hitting 3-3 – including a two-run home run, a three-run double, a single and a sacrifice fly for a total of six RBI.

Taylor Alto was 2-2 with a double and two RBI,
Kaylee Barnum blasted a two-run shot and
Sariah Payne added a solo HR.
Trinity Naugle was the winning pitcher, allowing just one hit while striking out six Chukars.

Lower Columbia 16, Treasure Valley 3 (5 Innings) – The Devils offense kept rolling, knocking out 15 base hits – including six long balls.
Valeti Fifita and
Saydie Harris each hit two homers, while
Zoe Naugle and
Ada Williams each hit one. Harris' first HR was a grand slam.

Overall Fifita was 4-4 with five RBI, Harris 2-4 with five RBI,
Zoe Naugle had three hits and
Kinzey Williams, Alto and
Bryanna Soares each had two hits.

Ada Williams had three RBI and overall in the DH she hit 4-6, with two home runs and nine RBI. And to top off a great day she was also the winning pitcher, scattering seven hits with three Ks and just one walk.

Edmonds, 7, Lower Columbia 2 – The Tritons rallied for three runs with two outs in the top of the 7
th inning to break open a tight game and take game one. In the losing effort
Trinity Naugle fanned nine Edmonds' hitters while allowing just seven hits.

Ada Williams hit her third home run of the weekend, a solo shot.
Kinzey Williams was 2-4 and Harris drove in the other Red Devil run.

Edmonds 12, Lower Columbia 2 (5 innings) – The Tritons pounded six home runs in the nightcap, including three by Nanea Andrade.

LCC hit the ball hard, totaling eight hits and solo home runs by Harris and Barnum. Harris was 3-3 and Barnum 2-3. Lower Columbia was snake bit multiple times with line drives hit right at Edmonds defenders.
