Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Back To The Dance For The Devils

The Lower Columbia women's basketball team is going to the NWAC Championships for a 26th time after defeating Grays Harbor 99-36 on Saturday February 15th in Aberdeen.

The mismatch was another chance for LCC head coach Luca Myers to dole out plenty of minutes for all players available.  Starters Jodi Noyes and Bailey Farrer sat out the game with minor injuries as LCC will try and get everybody healthy for the NWAC tournament March 7th and 8th in Everett.

Asia Castillo led Lower Columbia with a college career-high 18 points. Castillo was red hot in the first half as the Devils jumped out to a 58-18 lead at halftime.

Ally Harman was dialed in from long distance as she scored 14 points including 4 for 6 from three-point range.  Tommia Pakootas also hit 4 of 8 three's for 14 points. Pakootas is third in the NWAC with a 40.9 shooting percent from distance.

Danica Schmidt had a double-double for LCC with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Every Red Devil who played in the game, scored in the game.

LCC needs some big time help to have a chance for the West title as they are two games back of Centralia with three games left.  Next up for LCC is a home game with Green River on Wednesday February 19th. Game time is 6 pm on LCC Alumni Night with free admission for all LCC Alumni.  The Devils then close out the home schedule this Saturday for Sophomore Night against Pierce at 5 pm.
