The Lower Columbia College baseball team had a good opening line for the NWAC Championship Tournament. Make that a great opening lines as in
Mitch Lines.
Making his second straight NWAC opening game start, Lines went seven innings of three hit ball as the Devils defeated Mt. Hood 8-1. The soon to be Boise State Bronco was in control as he gave up just one run and struck out seven.
Shane Jamison had two doubles, the first that drove in a run in the first inning.
Trevor Paro had two hits and two RBI's.
DeShawn Johnson had the big hit in the game a two run double in the 4
th inning.
Chase Matheny had a solid game with two hits and three excellent catches in right field.
Zach Threlfall was also solid behind the plate and he had two hits and two runs.
Behind Lines,
Dakota Hawkins was dominating with four strikeouts in two innings of work.
The Devils will take on the Everett Trojans on Friday May 24
th at 7:35 pm.
