Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Devils Drop Elite Eight Heartbreaker

It was a physical game where the officials let the players bang into each other all night long. In the end, Walla Walla's big man did the most damage.

Walla Walla defeated LCC 63-62 in the NWAC Elite Eight.  Jake Albright banged his way to 26 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Warriors.

The Devils had a chance to win it in the final seconds, but a hurried shot at the end was no good and the Warriors survived to advance to the Final Four.

LCC had a 14 point lead in the second half, but the Warriors came alive behind Damen Thacker.  Thacker was held to just five points in the first half, but he hit some big threes in the second half and ended up with 20 points.

There were several questionable calls, but the allowance of physical play was consistent throughout the game. Samaad Hector had another outstanding tournament game as he had 17 points and 17 rebounds.

Seth Hall led LCC in scoring with 21 points, despite just 1 for 6 from distance.  Hall also had eight rebounds.

Bricin Ford had a good game in what turned out to be his last as a Red Devil.  Ford had eight points.

Ford, Hall, Canete-Hall, Devonte Dennis and Dwayne Stewart close out their two year runs at LCC and all did the team and college proud.

LCC ends the season with a 19-11 record and an NWAC record 38th appearance in the championship tournament.

Walla Wall will take on Spokane in the Final Four at 7 pm on Saturday March 16th.  Heavily favored North Idaho will play Lane in the other semi-final at 5 pm.
