At a shoot-around just hours before game time,
Kenya Lorton learned that the game at Centralia would be played despite the recent snow issues. She let out a large YES! She was obviously more than ready to play ball in her home area.
The Adna product was obviously fired up as she hit seven straight three-pointers scoring 21 points in the Red Devils 73-50 victory at Centralia.
The victory avenged an earlier loss this season and put the Devils and Blazers in a tie for the West Region leadership at 7-2.
Lorton tried a three late in the game and missed. She was 7-8 from distance and 7 of 11 from the floor overall.
Kenya wasn't the only Red Devil who played well.
Jerri Maluyo scored 13 points with eight assists.
Madeline Jacobson had 11 points and four board off the bench.
Emily Packham and
Nizhoni Wheeler had 11 points each. Wheeler also pulled down seven rebounds.
Shasta Lofgren had nine rebounds from the guard position to lead LCC in that category.
The Devils were on fire from beyond the arc, going 13 of 22 as a team.
Lindsey Nurmi led Centralia with 19 points.
The Devils return home for two games beginning with Pierce on Wednesday February 13
th. Game time has been changed to 5 pm at Myklebust Gym.
