Down 2-0, the Lower Columbia College baseball team scored 28 straight runs to defeat Green River 28-2 on Friday April 6th at Story Field.
After giving up two first inning runs, LCC scored 13 in the the bottom of the first and cruised from there. LCC pounded out 19 hits and the pitching staff allowed just two hits in the 7th inning mercy rule game.
There were plenty of hitting stars for Lower Columbia.Â
Blayze Arcano came off the bench and went 3 for 4 with six RBI's.  Arcano hit his first college homerun.
GJ Hurst had a grand slam along with a double, a total of five RBI's.
Zach Larson entered the game and went 3 for 4.Â
DeShawn Johnson had three hits.
Mitch Lines got the start and was touched for two runs and two hits before settling down. Lines went four innings, giving up the two first inning hits.Â
Spencer Burdick tossed a scoreless 5th and
Travis Paynter threw two scoreless innings.
The Devils go to 2-1 in the West Region with the lopsided win.  LCC will have a unique two team road trip on Monday April 9th. LCC plays Pierce at 11 am followed by a 5 pm game at Centralia on the same day. Â
