The Lower Columbia College women's basketball season ended with a 70-62 loss to Bellevue at the NWAC Elite Eight in Everett.
After a spirited Sweet 16 victory over North Idaho, the Devils appeared to have run out of gas against the talented Bulldogs.
A poor shooting first half for LCC allowed the Bulldogs to take a 38-21 halftime lead. The Red Devils shots just 27 percent in the first two quarters. Lower Columbia picked up the accuracy a bit in the second half finishing the game at 35 percent.
Cherita Daugherty capped off an excellent two game run at the NWAC's by scoring 17 points with 12 rebounds against Bellevue.
Madison Crews finished off her LCC career with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Shanay Dotson also had 12 points and five boards in her final LCC basketball game.
Brenda Akoto had 22 points and 15 rebounds to lead Bellevue.
It was another great season for the Red Devils, who fought through injury losses to complete the year at 23-9.
It was a third straight Elite Eight season for the Devils under the direction of
Chad Meadors.
