If a Lower Columbia Red Devil basketball player was going to have a big night on Valentines Day, it was probably fitting it was a guy named Sweet.
Spencer Sweet broke out a big box of bitter chocolates on the Raiders, scoring 28 points in the Red Devils 86-73 victory in Lakewood.
Sweet was 6 for 12 from long distance and 10 for 18 overall. The sophomore added five rebounds and two steals.
The Devils took control of the game was a strong first half, leading the Raiders 48-31 at halftime.
Devonte Dennis was the only other Red Devil in double-figures with 11.Â
It was a total team effort as 10 of the 12 Red Devils who played, scored.Â
Brandon Cotton was held scoreless, but he didn't force anything as he collected five assists and six rebounds.
Said Ali had nine points and six assists.Â
Dwayne Stewart had a double-snowman with eight points and eight rebounds.
LCC has won five straight and the victory clinches an NWAC playoff berth with four games left in the league season. The Devils are 9-1 in the West, 17-7 overall.
LCC travels to Aberdeen on Saturday February 17th for a 4:00 pm game with the Grays Harbor Chokers.
