Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bigfoot Sighting In Longview

In a close, physical game at the Red Devil Classic, Spokane came up with big shots from veteran sophomores to defeat Lower Columbia 79-73 on Saturday November 24th.

The Spokane win put the Sasquatch into the championship game of the annual Thanksgiving hoop tourney in Longview.  Bigfoot will be taking on Everett for the title for the 4th straight year.  LCC will play Olympic at 1 pm on Sunday November 25th.

JR Delgado hit a big three in the waning moments as he led Spokane with 21 points.

Tied 36-36 at halftime, the young Red Devils played solid defense throughout and were in position to win the game.

Seth Hall led Lower Columbia with 21 points, including 5 for 8 from three-point range.  Hall also had three blocks and three steals.

Fellow sophomore Alec Canete-Hall also played well as he had 16 points, eight assists and two steals.

It was the kind of game that Mickey Polis likes for his young roster featuring six freshman, big boy basketball.

Martis Johnson was continually getting hammered as he took it to the bucket, but he did not receive a single free throw attempt.  Johnson ended up with eight points and seven rebounds.

Dwayne Stewart had nine points and Bricin Ford supplied six points and six rebounds.

The Devils drop to 2-1 on the season.

The three game lineup for Sunday's final day of the Red Devil Classic features Centralia against Yakima Valley at 11 am, LCC and Olympic at 1 pm and the Spokane versus Everett at 3 pm.
