It took 5 sets but Red Devils Volleyball keeps their win streak alive vs a talented Grays Harbor team 3 sets to 2.
Devils came out strong in the first set defeating the Chokers 25-15 in what looked like it might be a quick 3 and done contest but the Chokers were not ready to just roll over. Grays Harbor was looking for the upset and were fired up pulling out to a quick 15-6 lead off of some good blocks and a couple of LCC errors. The Devils tried to put together a late rally but fell short dropping the second set 25-14.
LCC took the third set 25-12 but the Grays Harbor took set 4 in what was a back and forth grudge match with the Chokers coming out on top 25-23 to set up the deciding fifth set.
Lower Columbia jump out to an early lead at 14-9 but Grays Harbor came back after a couple of LCC errors to bring it with in one at 14-13. That would be as close as the Chokers would get though as the Devils finished strong to take the final set 15-13
Ashlynn Cantwell and
Cassidy Thompson led the Devils with 14 kills each.
Megan Miller had 10 kills and
Macey Wright finished the night with 47 assists and 10 digs. Karli Hall did her thing with 14 digs.
