Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Devils Drop First Division Game

A.J. Hodges of South Puget Sound was feeling it.

The Clippers guard hit six of eight three-point attempts scoring 30 points in an 88-80 victory over Lower Columbia on Wednesday January 24th.

Hodges entered the game with a three point percentage of 32%, but he was on fire on this night.

The Red Devils actually played well enough to win, but road victories are hard to come by against good teams like SPSCC.

LCC got off to an early lead as Ryan Taylor scored the Devils first eight points on 4 for 4 shooting.  But the Clips led by six at halftime, went up by 13 and held on for the victory.

Donald Scott led LCC with 19 points on 7 for 10 shooting.  Wesley Gilbert had 15 points and seven rebounds.  Spencer Sweet tallied 11 points.

Seth Hall hit all three of his shots, ending up with eight points.

The Devils turned it over 17 times and missed some free throws late that could have tightened things up at the end.  LCC shot 50% from the floor and 47% from long distance.  But it was Hodges hot hand that turned out to be the difference.

SPSCC goes to 5-0 in the West while the Devils slip to 4-1.

LCC will try and and bounce back on Saturday January 27th when they host the Highline Thunderbirds in a 7 pm game.
