Lower Columbia College sophomore guard Spencer Sweet put on a show in front of the home fans on Wednesday January 17th.  Sweet scored 38 points to lead the Devils to a 95-74 victory over the Pierce Raiders.

Sweet was 14 for 20 from the floor including 6 for 10 from three point range.  Sweet was dialed in and his offense came from within the Red Devil offense as his teammates patiently waited for him to come open. Sweet also had five rebounds and four assists.

A first half highlight for Sweet was on a one-on-one fast break when he crossed over the defender and packed it with one hand. Sweet indeed.

Dwayne Stewart had a good game for LCC with 15 points and five rebounds.

The Devils jumped out to a 17-6 lead before the Raiders settled down and got within four.  But LCC took a 49-37 lead at the half and then added to it with a 46-37 advantage in the second half.

Nine of the 11 Red Devils who played scored. It was a good show of depth. Donald Scott led all rebounders with nine. The Devils out rebounded the Raiders 48-31.

Rakeem Hughey had 17 to lead Pierce.

Lower Columbia is riding a six game winning streak. The Devils are 11-6 overall and 3-0 in the West Region.
