The Lower Columbia College soccer team captured a point off Tacoma for the first time in 15 years, tying the Titans 3-3 on Wednesday September 13th at Northlake Field.
The Titans salvaged the tie with a goal at the 86 minute mark. Lower Columbia stayed aggressive down the stretch and it opened things up for Tacoma to get the equalizer.
Lower Columbia played very well, controlling most of the action. Tacoma still had more shots, 15-5, but LCC was able to score first and rallied from down 2-1.
Emily McCoy led LCC with a goal and an assist.
The Devils scored first at 18' when
Kaylee Murray scored off a
Kayla Willis assist. After Tacoma tied it up at 33' and went ahead 2-1 at 38',
Grace Peacock used a McCoy helper to knot things up at 2-2.
McCoy then gave LCC the lead with a goal set up by a
Melany Roggow assist.
The Devils go to 2-3-2 overall and 1-2 in the West Region. LCC will travell to Aberdeen to face Grays Harbor Saturday at 12 pm.
The next home game is Wednesday April 20th, a 4 pm matchup with Centralia.
