The Lower Columbia baseball team outscored Grays Harbor 49-10 in taking a four game sweep over the Easter weekend.

Under long-awaited sunny skies on Saturday April 15
th at Story Field, the Devils defeated the Chokers 16-3 and 12-1, both games shortened due to the mercy rule.

The shortened rule allowed
Nick Tabura to get the victory as he went four innings giving up two hits and two runs. Tabura struck out 10 GH batters.

Tom Gomez came on and closed it out with three innings of two-hit ball.
Â
Ricky Muzzy led the LCC offense by coming up a single shy of a hitting cycle. Muzzy had a sun-aided triple, a two-run homer and a two run double. He finished the game 3 for 4 with four RBI's and three runs scored.

Jordan Barchus went 2 for 3 with three RBi's including a two-run home run.

Taylor Davis was 2 for 2 with four RBI's.Â
Cory Bryan came up with a clutch RBI single for his first collegiate hit.

The second game Saturday was more of the same.

Davis went the distance with five innings of three hit pitching. Davis is now 5-1 on the season.

Cameron Campbell provided the knockout blow with a 4
th inning Grand Slam home run, his sixth longball of the season.

Barchus was 2 for 2 with two RBI and
Steve Robinson had two run-scoring doubles.Â
JT Strickler had two hits.

The scene shifted to Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam for an Easter twilight double header on Sunday.
Â
Jared Akin was outstanding on the hill by going eight innings for the victory. Akin scattered eight hits and allowed just one run with five strikeouts.

Trevor Huddleston pitched a perfect ninth.

Strickler had a big game going 3 for 4 with an RBI. Campbell was 2 for 5 with two RBI's.
Corey Conklin and Robinson had two hits each.Â
Chase Hodkinson came off the bench to provide a hit and two RBI's.

Tyler Parsons was in control of the weekend finale as he went six innings allowing just one single. The sophomore lefty struck out seven and walked just one.

Anthony Garcia had control problems as he allowed five hits, five runs with three walks in a stressful bottom of the 7
th. The Devils were up 8-0 at the beginning of the final frame and held on for the victory.

Strickler, and Huddleston had two hits each for LCC. Conklin and Robinson had two RBI's each.

With the sweep, the Devils go to 21-5 and 8-1 in the West Region. The Devils remain tied with Pierce and Tacoma, all with 8-1 records.

The Devils look forward to a key four game series with Pierce. Saturday's 1 pm double header is at Mt. Tahoma High School. The teams will then meet at Story Field for a 1pm double header on Sunday April 23
rd.
