Playing in front of a energized Everett crowd smelling an upset, the Lower Columbia women's basketball team played tough in the final minutes and beat the Everett CC Trojans 66-56 in the NWAC Sweet 16 playoffs.

The Trojans went on a 14-3 run in the 4th quarter to get within one, but the Devils showed pride and poise and dominated the final four minutes to get the win.

It was an intense grinder and neither team shot well against intense defensive pressure. LCC was just 22 for 67 (33%). The Devils also hit just 1 of 16 three's. But the Trojans also were 17 for 49 (35%) and 3 for 12 from distance. Both teams also struggled the free throw line as LCC was 21 for 42 (50%) and Everett was 19 for 37 (51%).

In the end, the big stat was the Red Devils forcing 30 Trojan turnovers turning into 29 points.

Tywanna Abbott led LCC with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Madison Lord had 11 points and seven caroms.

Carissa Cannon also had nine points and hit the lone Devil three.
