Rain, Wind and Goals! Devils Blank Grays Harbor

On a day that was wet, cold and windy the Lower Columbia College soccer team made sure it was bearable by defeating Grays Harbor 6-0 on Saturday October 21st.

LCC had a 5-0 lead at the intermission and then managed the rest of the game by playing three touch and collecting playing time for everyone.  The Chokers were playing with just 10 and had nine on the field most of the way. The game was ended at the 7o minute mark.

Emily McCoy led the LCC effort with two goals.

Makenna Spillett got the scoring underway with a goal at 7' on a melany Roggow assist.  Roggow then set up McCoy for her first goal at 10'.  Kayla Willis scored at the 28th minute on a Brittney Miner assist.  McCoy's second goal was unassisted at 34'.

Grace Peacock hit the net at the 39th minute on a feed from Kaylee Murray.

The Willis twins then closed out the scoring at 51' in the second half.  Ashlynn Willis got the goal on the assist from Kayla.

The Chokers had just two shots and reserve goalkeeper Brianna Vollertsen had the lone save.

The Devils are now 7-7-3 on the season and 5-5-1 in the West Region.  LCC is alone in 4th place with 17 points, three points behind third place Bellevue and one point ahead of Pierce.

Lower Columbia hosts Pierce on Wednesday October 25th. The match begins at 4 pm at Northlake Field.

LCC closes out the regular season Saturday October 28th against Bellevue, a 12 pm start at Northlake Field. Saturday will be Sophomore Day.
