It was a Sweet victory for the Red Devils in their final tune-up for West Region play.

Spencer Sweet of Mark Morris, the Lower Columbia men's basketball team, defeated the Seattle Mountaineers in a non-league game, by a final score of 88-74 last night at Myklebust Gymnasium, on the campus in front of 113 spectators.

The Seattle Mountaineers are a Christian based college team located in Seattle and made up of players from around the country.

Sweet was really on his game last night scoring 24 points including six three-pointers. Sweet was six-for-12 from behind the arc.

Freshman guard
Brandon Cotton out of Tacoma ended up with a total of 16 points for the game. Cotton also led the Devils with five assists. Teammate
Devin Johnson also had 16 points along with 12 rebounds.

Keun Palu-Thompson also scored in double figures with 10.
Marcus Lord had six points and nine rebounds.

The Devils as a team shot 52 percent from the floor.

The Mountaineers tried to come back in the second half behind Manny Martin's game high 18 points, but fell short.

The Red Devils (10-4) complete non-divisional play ranked #8
th in the latest NWAC Coaches Poll, which came out on December 21
st, 2016.

LCC hosts Pierce College (11-3) in the West Region opener on Wednesday January 11
th. Pierce is ranked #3
rd in the latest NWAC Coaches Poll.

It's Red Canoe Credit Union Night and the women's/men's double header will feature games at halftime and other giveaways.
