Devil Depth Loosens Chokers

The Lower Columbia women's basketball team got 42 points off its bench in a 69-54 victory over Grays Harbor on Saturday January 28th in Aberdeen.

Playing at the Grays Harbor on-campus facility for the first time, the Devils jumped out to an early 11 point after one quarter.  LCC then put the defensive clamps on in the third quarter allowing just five Choker points.

12 of the 14 Red Devil players scored in the ballgame led by the 11 points from Carissa Cannon. Cannon was five-for-seven from the floor and also had three assists.

Tywanna Abbott had a solid game with 10 points and four boards.  Shanay Dotson was also very good off the bench with eight points, seven rebounds and three assists.

The Madisons contributed. Madison Crews had seven points,  Madison Lord had six points and five caroms and Madison Hinrichs finished with six points, four rebounds and four assists.

Samantha Boyce had four points, three rebounds and three steals. Faye Chartraw also had six points.

Alexia Thrower led all scorers with 18 for Grays Harbor.

With the win the Devils go to 5-1 in the West and remain on top of the division with 5-1 Centralia.  3-3 South Puget Sound comes to Myklebust Gym in Longview on Wednesday February 1st for a 6 pm ballgame.

Savannah McGill of SPSCC is four rebounds shy of the All-Time NWAC career rebounding record.  She averages over 20 rebounds per game.
