Lackluster Second Half Leads To Tie

It was a tie. It felt like a loss.

Lower Columbia scored a late goal just before halftime, but the second half was all Pierce as the Raiders came up with a 1-1 road tie on Tuesday September 27th.

Haley Briggs scored on a Shannon Campbell assist right before the break as the Devils were relieved to get a goal. LCC dominated play in the first half, controlling the ball at will.

But the Raiders completely flipped the match and turned the aggressors in the second half. Pierce had numerous chances to score multiple goals but were turned away by LCC goalkeeper Shelby Vermeulen, who ended up with 10 saves.

The Raiders finally got the tying goal by Tyra Thibodeaux at the 87 minute mark.

LCC is now 1-4-1 in NWAC West Region play, 3-8-1 overall.

The Devils have a week off before hosting Centralia at Northlake Field on Wednesday October 5th. Match time is 4 pm.
