Coming off a league opening road loss to Pierce and down 7-2 in the first set, the LCC volleyball team woke up and took care of business with a sweep over Grays Harbor on Friday September 23rd.
Grays Harbor certainly got the Devils attention with the early lead. Lower Columbia dominated after and came up with a straight set win,25-19, 25-8 and 25-20.
Kallie Schmit, who did not play in the loss at Pierce on Wednesday, led LCC with 12 kills against the Chokers.Â
Rachel Erickson added seven kills and
Jessy Marinetti had six.
Haylee Savage had 29 assists amd
Nina Bailey led the team with four blocks.Â
Khloe Clark had 12 digs to lead in that catagory.
The Devils played in front a good crowd that featured most of the LCC soccer players dressed in white shirts, blue pants with red flags as a tribute to the officials.
The Devils jumped from last place to second place in one match. LCC is 1-1 in league and 13-5 overall.
LCC will travel to Auburn on Wednesday September 28th for a 7 pm match with the Green River Gators.Â
