The Lower Columbia women's soccer team got an early goal and made it stand up as they defeated Grays Harbor 1-0 Sunday September 18th at Stewart Field in Aberdeen.

Haley Briggs unassisted goal at the 11 minute mark accounted for all the scoring. LCC had 14 shots that were saved by Choker goalkeepers.

Shelby Vermeulen recorded the shutout in goal with three saves, but it was the entire Red Devil defense that wasn't going to be denied.

The win has put LCC into the upper half of the West Region standings.  The Devils are 1-2-0, 3-6-0 overall. LCC is tied with Bellevue for the 4th spot with three points.

The Devils have given up 17 goals and scored 15 (-2).

LCC will head to Centralia Wednesday September 21st for a night game with the Trail Blazers. The match is slated to begin at 7 pm.

The next home game is Saturday September 24th as LCC hosts the Bellevue Bulldogs in a 12 pm match at Northlake Field.
