The Lower Columbia College volleyball team was pleasantly surprised to see such a great crowd at thier home opener.

They thanked them by coming out hot and finishing strong in a 3-2 victory over Chemeketa.

With classes starting in 20 days, it was a vocal late August crowd to see two talented teams go back and forth.  LCC won the first set 25-15, but the Storm came back and got the match to a deciding fifth set.

Kylie Reinholdt had some huge kills in the final set. She was making her season debut after sitting out the first six matches at the NWAC Fall Festival. Reinholdt ended up with 11 kills in the match.

Rachel Erickson led the way with 18 kills and 16 digs.  Kallie Schmit also had a big night with 13 kills and 13 digs.

Haylee Savage set things up with 58 of the Devils 59 assists.

The Devils continue a three match home stand with a 3 pm match against Columbia Basin on Wednesday August 31st. The team then hosts Clackamas in a 7 pm match on Thursday September 1st.
