The Devils break five game losing skid with 9-1 victory over the Green River Gators Sunday afternoon at Story Field.
Devils scored early in the 1st inning with a
Garrett Myers RBI single to give LCC a 1-0 lead and it stayed that way until the top of the sixth when Green Rivers Rob Ackerley hit an RBI single of his own. The Red Devils got it started in the bottom of the sixth with
Hayden Gerlach,
Taylor Davis, and
Toby Johnson each hitting a single. Those mixed with a
Riley Higgins walk and a wild pitch gave the Devils 3 more runs. It was the bottom of the 8th with 2 outs when the Devils started hitting and the gators pitching started to struggle. Johnson and Myers both single again, followed by
Steve Robinson's RBI single. The Gators walked two batters, hit one, and had a fielding error all of which help the Devils to score 5 runs and extend the Devils lead to 9-1.
Kade Kryzsko made is return to pitching for 2 2/3 innings allowing only 3 hits while striking out 4, Tyler Parson took over in the 3rd and gave up only one earned run while striking out 3 to get the win.
