Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Devils Record 37th NWAC Tourney Appearance Ends Quickly

The Lower Columbia College men's basketball team saw its outstanding season end with a home loss to Columbia Basin 63-53 on Saturday March 5th.

The West Champion Devils were making their record 37th appearance in the tournament, but the home shooting touch was not happening as LCC shot just 31 percent from the Myklebust Gym floor.

The new NWAC tournament format had home sites for the first round but Columbia Basin played with poise and confidence to spring the upset. The Hawks were led by Andrew Reddout who had 19 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists.

The Devils were down 33-24 at halftime, but made a game of it getting within one on a Keun Palu-Thompson dunk. But whenever the momentum shifted to LCC, the Hawks had the answer.

Lawrence Russell had 18 points to led LCC but he shot just 6-20 from the floor. Palu-Thompson had 13 points but also struggled with the touch going 4-21.  Elijah Cotton-Welch hit three 3's as part of his 11 point night.

The Hawks outrebounded LCC 63-53.

Sophomores Kyle Bobo, Jared Roffler and West-MVP Russell played thier final games for LCC.  With a great season behind and a bright future ahead, look for the Red Devils to be back.

Like the 37 other times.
