The Edmonds Tritons, after dropping two games in Longview on Friday, came back to take two games back from the Devils on Saturday March 26th at Edmonds.
They had to work long and hard to get it.
The Tritons won game one Saturday 6-3 and then completed the sweep with a 2-1 victory in 19 innings. All of the runs in the marathon were plated in the 19 inning.
In Saturday's first game, the Tritons snapped a 2-2 tie with four runs in the fifth. Devil starter
Anthony Garcia went 4 2/3 innings, allowing six runs (three earned), striking out four with no walks.
Cameron Campbell and
Steve Robinson had two hits each.
The finale featured 18 scoreless innings. Devil starter
Tyler Parsons went 8 1/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing just four hits.Â
Max Tilton came on to provide 8 2/3 innings of three hit relief.
The Devils scratched out a run in the top of the 9th on Campbell's sacrifice fly. But Devil reliever
Jake Roes had control issues and the Tritons scored two in the bottom of the 19th to win it.
Campbell, Robinson and
Lorin Archibald each had three hits during the long standoff.
The Devils have added a home double header with the Mt. Hood Saints on Tuesday March 29th. The two seven inning games will begin at 5 pm at Story Field.
