The LCC Red Devil women's team shook off a slow start and cruised to a 74-45 win at Pierce in the West Region opener on Saturday January 9th.
Leading just 18-17 after one quarter, the Devils outscored the Raiders 18-8 in the second stanza and then seized the affair with a 17-6 third quarter advantage.
Playing on a sore ankle,
Katie Hankins was up to the challenge with 21 points and nine rebounds. The sophomore from Chehalis also had four steals.
Faye Chartraw had a solid game with 14 points and seven rebounds. Lexie Turner was also very good off the bench with eight points, six boards and five assists.
Samantha Boyce had eight points and
Keahi-lele Roy added seven.
The Devils had a decided advantage on the glass, outrebounding Pierce 68-44.
Me'Osha Mack led Pierce with 17 points.
The Devils host Tacoma in the home league opener Wednesday January 13th. The tip off is set for 6 pm at Myklebust Gym. The game will be televised live on Devil Vision as the Tofer Vision production crew comes in for the first time this season. The game will also be the NWAC Televised Game of the Week.
