It was a solid overall performance for the LCC volleyball team on Labor Day.
The Devils defeated Clackamas 3-1 on Monday September 7th at Myklebust Gym. The set scores were 25-13, 25-16, 16-25 and 25-23.
Lower Columbia came out on fire playing very well in the initial set. After taking a 2-0 lead, the Devils saw a young and talented Cougar team battle back to win set three. It was a back-and-forth affair in the 4th before the Devils captured the victory.
Sophomore
Madison Studer had her best match of the season leading the net attack with 12 kills. Fellow sophomores
Shelby Bergum (8 kills) and
Zoey Mohr (6 kills) also played well.
Kylie Reinholdt led the backrow with 20 digs. Kelsey Borwn had 18 assists and
Haylee Savage contributed 14 assists.
The Devils go to 6-2 on the season. A tough test awaits on Wednesday September 9th when the Devils travel to Salem to play undefeated Chemeketa.
The match with the Pacific JV's on Thursday September 10th was cancelled by Pacific.
