Devils Split Weekend Series With Edmonds

After two tough losses at home on Saturday, the Lower Columbia baseball team bounced back to salvage a split with two wins at Edmonds on Sunday March 22.

In the first game on Saturday at Story Field, the Devils rallied from a 3-1 deficit by scoring single runs in the 7th and 8th innings. But Edmonds came up with three big runs in the top of the 9th and held on to beat the Devils 6-4.  Jeremy Rabauliman went seven innings allowing three runs. Freshman lefty Joel Worden took the loss by giving up the three runs in the 9th. Offensively, LCC was led by Lorin Archibald who went 4 for 4 with an RBI.  Ryan Littlefield had a big RBI double in the 8th to tie up the game.  Ryan Enquist also had an RBI.

The second game Saturday was a seven inning game that went eight.  The Devils scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th to force the extra frame, but Edmonds scored the game winner on a Jesse Moore homer off Christian Parsons.  Parsons took the loss despite pitching well in relief of starter Alex Torson.  Chris Rogers of LCC was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's.

LCC showed great resolve by coming back to sweep the Tritons at Edmonds on Sunday.  Freshman Kade Kryzsko provided a complete game, 2-1 seven inning victory over the Tritons.  Kryzsko gave up one run, scattered eight hits and struck out four.  Seaver Whalen hit a first inning homer and finished the game 2 for 3.  Archibald hit a solo homer which turned out o be the game winner.

In the finale, LCC jumped out to a 4-0 lead and went on to beat Edmonds 8-4.  Nick Tabura got the start and went three innings. Tanner Olson came up big in relief by working out of a bases loaded jam, allowing just one run. Olson got the victory.  Peyton Burks went three innings of relief and Gabe Ihrig closed it out in the 9th.  The Devils got two RBI's from Littlefield. Archibald hit another homer and Whalen had a hit, an RBI and scored three runs.

The Devils closed out the pre-league season with an 11-7 mark. West Region play opens Saturday with a single road game against Grays Harbor. The game is set for 1 pm at Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam. The league home opener is Sunday against the Pierce Raiders. Game time at Story Field is 1 pm,.
