You only get one chance for a good first impression.
The 2014 LCC volleyball team seized the moment and opened the season with a 3-0 sweep of Shoreline on Tuesday September 2nd.
The set scores were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-23. Leading the way was freshman setter
Kayla Keane who had 29 assists and five aces in her first college match.
Leading the way at the net was freshmanÂ
Sierra Addicott who had 10 kills. Returner
Amanda Schwegler had seven kills and freshmanÂ
Madison Studer also had seven kills.
The Devils jumped out to an early lead in the opening set and cruised to the win. The second set was also a dominant performance. But the talented Dolphins would not be turned away easily and they were in control most of the third set before the Devils went on an 11-5 run to take the match.
Head coach
Carri Smith played everybody and the team showed great cohesiveness and energy.
They will need to muster even more when they host a very good Linn Benton team on Wednesday September 3rd. The Roadrunners and Devils will square off in a 6 pm match on Ted Natt Court at the Mark Morris Gym in Longview.
