LATE UPRISING GIVES DEVILS A WIN AT TACOMA
The Red Devils had some unfinished business to take care of on Tuesday May 6th. And they certainly took care of business.
Tacoma hosted LCC in the resumption of a rain-halted game from Saturday May 3rd. The scenario had Tacoma leading 2-0 in the top of the 5th inning of a scheduled 7 inning game.
The Devils plated a run in the top of the 5th, then scored two more in the top of the 7th to take a 3-2 lead. Tacoma then tied it up in the bottom of the 7th, sending the game into extra innings. LCC then exploded for 8 runs in the top of the 9th and went on to an 11-4 victory.
When the stats from the game were finally put together,
Justin Jacobs was the offensive star. He got on base five times, went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored.
Gabe Ihrig got the win with two innings of 2-hit relief.
Chase Heslep was also a key to the win, throwing 3 innings of 1-hit relief.
The Devils will close out the regular season this weekend with a four game set against Grays Harbor. Friday night is Sophomore Night as the Chokers come to Story Field for a 5 pm double header.
