The Lower Columbia baseball team swept a four game series with Grays Harbor and now get ready to travel to Tacoma for playoff action.

The Chokers used Story Field for their home games on Saturday May 10th, but the Devils came away with wins 12-3 and 5-1.

Hunter Wells got the win in the first game Saturday, giving up just three hits over six innings, including nine strikeouts.  Chase Heslep got a three inning save, allowing just one hits and no runs.

Cooper Mickelson led the offense with three hits and four RBI's. Justin Jacobs had two hits and two RBI's.  Micahel Forgione also collected two hits.

In game two Sunday, Tanner Olson went seven innings for the complete game five-hitter. Olson struck out seven and did not walk a batter.  Trevor Lane led the offense with three hits including a two-run homer in the third inning.  Justin Jacobs had two hits.

After a Friday rainout, the Devils hosted the Chokers on Mother's Day Sunday. Jeremy Rabauliman went six solid innings to get the win. allowing just four hits.  Jacob Cogar got the save, allowing just two hits over three innings of shutout relief.

Forgione had two hits and two RBI to lead the offense. Lane also had a pair of hits.

In the series finale, the Red Devil offense turned the seven inning game into a five inning, mercy rule affair.  Connor Switzer hit a three-run homer, part of a nine run 4th inning.  Tanner Marty had two hits and two RBI's. Ansel Webster came off the bench to provide two hits and two RBI's. Dakota Clevidence also had two RBI's.

Seven departing Red Devil sophomores were honored after the sweep.  Makaio Mobbs, Trevor Lane, Peter Leece, Cooper Mickelson, Chase Heslep, Seth Pedersen and Mason Dunning were all presented with a framed momento and Head Coach Eddie Smith spoke to each player's contributions to the program.

All seven sophs will be fighting hard to make sure Sophomore Day isn't their last games at Story Field. The Devils travel to Tacoma CC on Saturday May 17th for a best of three playoff series. Games one and two are Saturday begining at 1 pm. Game three, if necessary, would be Sunday May 18th at 1 pm.  All games will be at TCC's Minnitti Field.

The winner of the series will join West champion Pierce at the NWAACC Championships May 22-26 at Story Field in Longview.
