The Lower Columbia softball team made quick work of Clark on Monday April 7th, sweeping to a pair of mercy rule victories 9-1 and 10-0.

Amber Gilbert got the win in the opener, receiving plenty of offensive support.  Gilbert went six innings, allowing seven hits and no earned runs.

Haley Hibbs went 2 for 4 with a homer run and four RBI's. Chelsey Miller capped off the game with a walk-off two-run triple that triggered the mercy rule in the sixth inning.  Ashley Wells had had three hits.  April Wells, Anne Binschus, Lexie Rodriguez and Gilbert also had two hits each.

The Devils rolled a seven in the bottom of the 4th to cap off a 10-0 win in the second game.  Miller had two homers and three RBI's to lead the offense.  Ashley Wells and Ku'ulei Siolo also had two hits. Siolo and Binschus had two RBI each.

Julia Breidt was dominating in the circle, pitching a complete game two-hitter.  Breidt struck out three and walked two.

The Devils go to 2-1 in South Region play. LCC will host Chemeketa in a league double header Wednesday April 9th.  First pitch at Tam O'Shanter Park is set for 3 pm.
