The LCC baseball team came up with a home sweep of Centralia on Sunday May 6
th. The first game was a blowout, the second game a last inning walk off rally.
Game one featured great performances from guys named Tanner.
Tanner Olson went the distance, allowing just five Centralia singles in an 11-0 victory. Olson pitched to contact and had a low pitch count. He struck out just two, but issued no walks.
Tanner Marty had four hits, including two doubles and two RBI's.
Mason Dunning had two hits including a double and a solo homer.
Justin Jacobs also hit a solo dinger and a two-run double for three RBI's. The game ended early when pinch hitter
Conner Switzer hit a two run triple to end the game via the mercy rule.
The Blazers came right back on LCC in game two, scoring two runs on four hits in the first inning off LCC starter
Hunter Wells. Wells gave up 12 hits in six innings of work, but left the game with the score tied 4-4.
Centralia scored a run off Devil reliever
Kyle Rossman in the top of the 7
th, but Rossman ended up with the win when his team scored two in the bottom of the 7
th to get a 6-5 win.
Back to back singles by
Michael Forgione and
Cooper Mickelson along with Blazer miscues allowed LCC to tie it, then
Peter Lecce hit a walk off 340 foot single to center for the win.
The Devils and the Blazers complete the season series Monday afternoon April 7
th with a 1 pm double header at Wheeler Field in Centralia.
