A DOWN DAY FOR THE DEVILS
Mama told me there would be days like this.
What she didn't tell me is that the Red Devils would drop four games at home in less than 24 hours.
On Friday April 25th, the Devils lost two agonizing one-run games to Southwestern Oregon by scores of 2-1 and 4-3.
It was really one of those days Saturday April 26th as the Mt. Hood Saints flexed their muscles and swept a double header with the a pair of 11-0 victories.
Against Southwestern, the Devils got great pitching from
Julia Breidt and
Sonny Dorhofer, but they couldn't come up with the clutch basehit.
Against Hood, nothing went well as the Saints hit four homers in the first game and five more in the second game. The Devils had just four hits in the first game and just two in the nightcap.
The Devils league home record is just 2-6 and they will have to put an end to a six game losing streak if they are are to rally for an NWAACC Championship berth. The squad will be on the road this Wednesday as they take on Clark for two games in Vancouver. First pitch is 3 pm.
