DEVIL PITCHERS DOMINATE IN GATOR SWEEP
The LCC pitching staff allowed just 11 hits in a four game series as the Devils swept Green River on Saturday April 12th and Sunday April 13th.
Saturday in Longview, the Devils won the opner by a score of 71-.
Hunter Wells got the win, allowing just one hit and one run in seven innings of work. Wells also struck out six Gators.
Tyler Gulbransen gave up just one hit and struck out three in two innings of relief. Leading the offense was
Makaio Mobbs, who hit a two run homer in the 8th inning, one of his two hits with three runs scored.
Michael Forgione had two hits and two RBI's. Part of the Red Devils four run 8th inning was a freak windstorm that tore away several Story Field banners.
Game two Saturday was a pitchers duel between
Tanner Olson and Brain Torres-Perez. Olson went the distance, allowing four hits and one run in seven innings. The Devils broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 7th when
Mason Dunning's RBI single drove in the game winner.
Sunday's action was at Heritage Park in Puyallup and it was all LCC. The Devils spun back to back shutouts.
Jeremy Rabauliman got the win in an 11-0 victory. The freshman right hander went six innings alloiwng just two hits. Zach Kolterman prvided two innings of hitless relief. Mobbs had a big game with three hits and four RBI's. Forgione had three hits and drove in two.
Justin Jacobs and
Tanner Marty had three hits each.
Dakota Clevidence also had two hits and two RBI.
LCC completed the sweep with a 9-0 victory. Four Devil pitchers combined on a three-hitter. Jacobs Cogar got the win and he was followed by
Gabe Ihrig, Connor Kahle and
Kyle Rossman. All four pitched very well. On offense, the Devils were led by
Cooper Mickelson who had two hits and three RBI's. Mobbs had three more hits Jacobs and Peter Leece each had two hits.
The Devil go to 9-1 in league play. LCC will trvael to Pierce for a single game Friday, 3 pm at Mt. Tahoma HS. LCC then returns home for a single game Saturday against Green River, game time at 1 pm.
