DEVILS DROP THREE OF FOUR TO EDMONDS
The Lower Columbia baseball team has some soul serching to do after losing three of four games to Edmonds on Saturday March 22nd and Sunday March 23rd.
LCC blew a save each day.
Saturday the Tritons won game one 2-0 behind the one-hit pitching of Andrew Kemmerer. Peter Leece broke up the no-hitter with a single to lead off the 7th, but Kemmerer was solid all game.
Jeremy Rabauliman pitched well in relief, allowing not hits in two innings of work.
In the second game Saturday, LCC took a 7-6 lead into the 9th, only to see the Tritons score two runs off Connor Kahle. Kahle pitched well in relief of starter
Tanner Olson.
The Devils were down 6-0 in that game, only to rally with three runs in the 5th and four runs in the 7th.
Cooper Mickelson had four hits including two doubles and two RBI's.
Sunday, the Devils snapped Edmonds 10 game win streak with a 5-3 victory.
Hunter Wells scattered seven hits over six innings, allowing just one run.
Kyle Rossman had two solid innings of relief and then Seth Petersen worked out of a jam to get the save.
Makaio Mobbs hit a two run homer in the 4th inning and Leece had three hits.
In the finale Sunday, the Devils jumped out to a 5-1 lead after one inning. The key hit was a
Tanner Marty two run single. But the Devils offense went cold after that.
Stiil LCC had a 5-3 lead going to the top of the 7th and final inning but that it when things unraveled. Petersen was looking for his second save of the day but a leadoff walk and four errors opened the floodgates for Edmonds to score six runs. The final was 9-6 giving the series win to the Tritons.
The Devils will try and flush the weekend when they head to St. Martins in Lacey for a 2 pm game on Tuesday March 25th. Game time is 2 pm.
The West Region opener is Saturday March 29th as the Grays Harbor Chokers come to Story Field for a single game at 1 pm.
