Ku and Chelsey go back to back jack to give the Devils the win over Highline
BACK TO BACK HOMERS GIVE BACK TO BACK WINS
The Red Devil softball team opened the home season in style with a double header sweep over Highline on Friday March 21st.
Ku'ulei Siolo hit a one-out solo homer in the bottom of the 7th inning of the first game to tie up the score, then
Chelsey Miller followed that up with a solo bomb to give the Devils a 6-5 victory.
Siolo and Miller's heroics pulled a victory out of the fire as the Devils were down 5-4 in the final inning after giving up a 4-1 lead earlier in the game.
Ju Ju Breidt came up with a clutch pitching performance as she came in and provided 3 2/3 innings of no hit relief. The sophomor from Kelso also had five strikeouts.
Amber Gilbert had collected two hits and an RBI and
April Wells continued her torrid hitting with two more basehits.
Jenny Hagen also provided an RBI double.
There was no such drama in the second game as the Devils defeated the T-Birds 10-1 in five innings. Siolo had two hits and three RBI to lead the way.
April Wells and
Ashley Wells each had two hits each.
Anne Binschus also had two hits and Miller came up with a big two run single.
Sonny Dorhofer worked around six walks, allowing just one hit and four strikeouts into the third inning.
Amber Gilbert came in with the bases loaded and got out of the jam and went on to the victory.
