Although the wait continues for the move back into remodeled Myklebust Gym, the Devils did get to play in front of the home fans for the first time this season on Wednesday December 3rd.
It was a good first impression.
Sierra Richards had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead LCC to a 91-76 win over the Portland Panthers. Kaylea Knox hit six of 12 three pointers and scored 20 on the night. Payton Barker also had 17 points and five rebounds.
Up 43-34 at the half, the Devils went on an early 10-0 run in the second half to blow the game open. The Panthers didn't roll over as they hit some big shots to stay in contention. Milan Woods had 20 to lead Portland.
Mady Hanna had a nice game at the point, scoring six with 11 rebounds and eight assists.
The lowlight of the night was when Donniesha Webber of LCC went down with a knee injury early in the second half. There is hope that it may not be as serious as orginally thought, although she is scheduled for further examination.
The Devils are now 1-1 on the young season and will be back at the Mark Morris Gym Saturday December 6th for a game with the LCC Alumni team. Devils stars of the past will be back to challenge the current squad. Game time has been moved to 7 pm.
